Serie A champions Juventus defeated Monaco 2-0 away to put a foot into their second final in three years.


Juventus were in control of the game and Gonzalo Higuain grabbed a brace to push them forward to face another Spanish club this time around.

Juve played Barcelona in the 2015 final but they were outclassed by the Catalan side. With the way things stand, Juve are set to play Real Madrid in the final in Cardiff, considering that the in-form Madrid saw off competition from their city rivals Atletico, defeating them 3-0 in just the first leg as Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a hat trick.

French teenage star KylianMbappe made efforts during the game but he could not hit the target as a highly organized Juve defence with goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon tamed him.

Man of the Match DaniAlves provided two crucial assists that Higuain connected to, to get the goals after not scoring in seven knockout games in the Champions League.

Monaco threatened their guests but the Juve team remain resolute to keep them from scoring. With the home record Juventus have, it seems impossible that Monaco would go and do the magic. WENGER FAILS AGAIN IN THE UCL

Arsene Wenger has almost failed to help the team past the Round of 16 stage, yet again.


Arsenal were demolished 5-1 by German champions Bayern Munich in the first leg of the clash on Wednesday. This sets them on the brink of a knockout from the continental tournament.

Wenger’s men would need more than a miracle to upturn such a feat when they host the German machines at the Emirates. Many have written the Gunners off. This is one of the numerous times Wenger has failed to take the team beyond this stage.

In 2011 Arsenal won the first leg of their clash with Barcelona. At the return leg at Nou Camp, Lionel Messi lifted the team to a 3-1 victory after Arsenal lost Robin van Persie controversially.

The next year AC Milan stopped Arsenal. The Serie A giants defeated Arsenal 4-0 courtesy of a brace from Brazilian playmaker Robinho, and efforts from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin Boateng. FABREGAS KEEPS CHELSEA’S LIGHT SHINING

Newly ushered into Chelsea’s starting line-up, Cesc Fabregas wasted no time in repaying his coach for believing in him.


On Wednesday night, the Spaniard ensured The Blues’ title hopes lived on as he scored the sole goal in the encounter with David Moyes’ relegation-threatened side. The former Barca man curled in a sweet finish into the Black Cats’ wide corner from the edge of the 18-yard, taking advantage of a split-second opening in Sunderland’s back line.

This ensures Chelsea, who are now 6 points clear off second place Liverpool, will remain at the summit through Christmas – a position six of the seven past EPL champions occupied during the festive period. Making a bigger claim for The Blues is the stat that reads; they have gone on to win the league title on each of the four previous occasions (2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10 and 2014-15) they were top during December.

Pickford’s heroics actually aided Sunderland in making sure the margin wasn’t bigger. David Moyes set up his side in two banks of four to soak up pressure from the Londoners’ ever persistent attack force while hoping to hit them on the break. AC Milan rule out permanent Balotelli deal

AC Milan is set to announce to Jurgen Klopp that they do not want to take Mario Balotelli on a permanent deal. The Italian striker is currently on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.

The relationship between Mario Balotelli and the Italian side has become tenser during the recent weeks with the lowest point coming on Sunday where his own supporters booed him. He was only introduced in the latter stage of the game with 16 minutes only left to play at the San Siro. Replacing the brilliant Luiz Adriano, Balotelli was booed by the home supporters.

Balotelli has scored just one goal so far for AC Milan in the Serie A during his loan spell. He has managed 14 appearances and has only started three games.

The striker has fallen down the rank at Liverpool, and AC Milan was keen to provide the Italian striker with an opportunity to jumpstart his career. AC Milan president, Silvio Berlusconi, was quoted as saying that the striker could make a name for himself at the club if only he could improve his performance on the pitch.

It is believed that a Chinese club might be interested in signing the Italian striker on a long-term deal.

The last match against Lazio ended in a 1-1 draw. Marco Parolo opened the scoring for Lazio in the    9th minute, but AC Milan drew level after 6 minutes with a goal from Carlos Bacca. Despite Lazio ending the game with 10 men, following the sending off of Senad Lulic, AC Milan failed to make their one-man advantage count and ended up sharing the points with Lazio.

AC Milan is currently 6th in the Serie A, seven points behind the last Europa League spot which is currently occupied by their fierce rivals, Inter.
