Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves has heaped praise on experienced midfielder Joao Mourinho whose stunning strike versus Manchester United ensured that the Wolves picked up a point at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Portugal international made the surprise move from Porto to the west Midlands earlier in the summer and he has since proved a fantastic partner for Neves in the centre of the park while contributing a goal and an assist in the process.
Speaking after the game, Neves praised the qualities of his compatriot and believes the team are fortunate to have the services of the Euro 2016 winner, he said: “He is a great player. Everyone is seeing what he can do, and he is a very good player for us. He is one of the most important players in the squad because he’s very experienced, very smart, and an intelligent player. We learn every day and as a team we are learning with each other, but especially from a player like Joao. We want to learn from him. He’s played Champions League and has been European champion and fortunately we can enjoy him.”

Ahead of the World Cup set to kick off next week, Europe top clubs have been busy in the transfer market as they look to settle their business on time.
Liverpool have released German midfielder Emre Can after his contract lapsed. There were hopes that he would renew with the club but he refused to as he ran down his contract. Anfield could have taken advantage of the situation to get cash but their hope that they would convince the player, and then Can’s injury affected the whole process. Can reportedly signed a pre contract with Juventus in January and has now agreed to a four year deal with the Turin based club. Reports in Italy say Can will earn about €5 million annually. He is set to undergo a medical next week before the clubs confirm the deal, reports say.

According to Suso, Italy has planned to surprise Spain with their strategies in the upcoming fixture between the two nations which is to be held on Saturday.
It’s a huge fixture as Italy and Spain are in a close battle to end up at that top position in their World Cup qualifying group which will earn them a direct qualification to the showpiece competition.
Suso reveals that he has had a chat with the Italian player Leonardo Bonucci who plays for the same club as him and Bonucci has asked him to look out for a few surprises.
However Suso clarifies that Bonucci hasn’t given him any clue what the surprises will be. So he has no idea what they are going to come up with, whether they are going to be more attacking or more defensive, but, one thing that he knows for certain is that whatever strategies they formulate, they have got the team to execute it. So regardless of the strategies, the match is going to be tough anyway. Continue reading “Italy has planned to surprise Spain in next Soccer Fixture”
Manchester United may have received a huge blow in their quest to sign Kasper Dolberg after his agent suggested that the striker will stay put at Ajax for at least another season.
The Danish forward had captured the attention of Europe’s elite following a top season in the Eredivisie where he bagged 23 goals across all competitions.
Dolberg, 19, guided the Amsterdam giants to within reach of the league title owing to fall a point short of surprise champions Feyenoord. Meanwhile, the striker also proved key towards their European progress, and they eventually lost in the Europa League final to Manchester United by a 2-0 scoreline. Apart from United, Dolberg has also attracted interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Everton in recent weeks, but his representative appears to have cooled the transfer talk by citing his client’s desire to remain at Ajax. Serie A champions Juventus defeated Monaco 2-0 away to put a foot into their second final in three years.
Juventus were in control of the game and Gonzalo Higuain grabbed a brace to push them forward to face another Spanish club this time around.
Juve played Barcelona in the 2015 final but they were outclassed by the Catalan side. With the way things stand, Juve are set to play Real Madrid in the final in Cardiff, considering that the in-form Madrid saw off competition from their city rivals Atletico, defeating them 3-0 in just the first leg as Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a hat trick.
French teenage star KylianMbappe made efforts during the game but he could not hit the target as a highly organized Juve defence with goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon tamed him.
Man of the Match DaniAlves provided two crucial assists that Higuain connected to, to get the goals after not scoring in seven knockout games in the Champions League.
Monaco threatened their guests but the Juve team remain resolute to keep them from scoring. With the home record Juventus have, it seems impossible that Monaco would go and do the magic. The Serie A side have not lost by two goals since in more than three years. Continue reading “JUVENTUS SHARES JUMP WITH MONACO VICTORY”
Arsene Wenger has almost failed to help the team past the Round of 16 stage, yet again.
Arsenal were demolished 5-1 by German champions Bayern Munich in the first leg of the clash on Wednesday. This sets them on the brink of a knockout from the continental tournament.
Wenger’s men would need more than a miracle to upturn such a feat when they host the German machines at the Emirates. Many have written the Gunners off. This is one of the numerous times Wenger has failed to take the team beyond this stage.
In 2011 Arsenal won the first leg of their clash with Barcelona. At the return leg at Nou Camp, Lionel Messi lifted the team to a 3-1 victory after Arsenal lost Robin van Persie controversially.
The next year AC Milan stopped Arsenal. The Serie A giants defeated Arsenal 4-0 courtesy of a brace from Brazilian playmaker Robinho, and efforts from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin Boateng. At the Emirates, Arsenal won 3-0 with goals from Laurent Koscielny, Tomas Rosicky and van Persie. Continue reading “WENGER FAILS AGAIN IN THE UCL”
Newly ushered into Chelsea’s starting line-up, Cesc Fabregas wasted no time in repaying his coach for believing in him.
On Wednesday night, the Spaniard ensured The Blues’
title hopes lived on as he scored the sole goal in the encounter with David Moyes’ relegation-threatened side. The former Barca man curled in a sweet finish into the Black Cats’ wide corner from the edge of the 18-yard, taking advantage of a split-second opening in Sunderland’s back line.
This ensures Chelsea, who are now 6 points clear off second place Liverpool, will remain at the summit through Christmas – a position six of the seven past EPL champions occupied during the festive period. Making a bigger claim for The Blues is the stat that reads; they have gone on to win the league title on each of the four previous occasions (2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10 and 2014-15) they were top during December.
Pickford’s heroics actually aided Sunderland in making sure the margin wasn’t bigger. David Moyes set up his side in two banks of four to soak up pressure from the Londoners’ ever persistent attack force while hoping to hit them on the break. Continue reading “FABREGAS KEEPS CHELSEA’S LIGHT SHINING”
